An opportunity has opened up for a OSHC Coordinator to join this small local provider in the Kellyville area in the new year.
  • Positive culture, support, mentoring, monthly PD provided.

A small local provider are looking for a Coordinator (called Nominated Supervisor) to join their lovely service located on school grounds in a quiet community. This is a large service and the role comes with a a lot of autonomy and trust to make it your own. The provider understands that no service is the same and that each have their own unique ways of running, routines, programming and more.   As Nominated Supervisor you will be responsible for the day to day organisation, management and leadership of this OSHC service and you will work within a close and supportive school community.

Why this role?
  • Between $35 - $38 per hour, above award, pending experience & qualifications
  • Plus super and broken shift allowance for each split shift worked.
  • A permanent full time role of 38 hours per week, however if desired by the right candidate happy to go to a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Supported by an Assistant Coordinator and an Educational Leader (two support people).
  • Non-contact time mixed with on the floor time.
  • The service is open 7-9am and 3-6pm during term time.
  • Ideally split shifts to ensure strong leadership is maintained in service and on the floor, however can negotiate potential of some block shifts for the right candidate.
  • Extra admin tasks will consist of things such as rostering, supporting the team, compliance (with support), QIP, following budget, replying emails, etc.
  • Don’t feel rushed in your work, ability to share the workload with your team and have support always at hand from management.
  • Gain valuable experience in a Coordinator position.

Why this centre?
  • Located on school grounds. This is a pack up / pack down service, however due to the facilities being great – there are no issues. Food is delivered daily already made, so there is no prep (or clean up) to worry about.
  • Head office is just 10 minutes away, where you are always welcomed to work on your admin tasks as you need. Management are there and available if you have any questions.
  • Area Manager visits once a month at a minimum, however they want you to lead the role / service (lots of trust and autonomy). They do not interfere, just provide support and guidance.

  • Larger service catering to around 200 children, however means you get a wider variety in the daily program and more educators to facilitate this.

Who are we looking for?
  • Preferable experience as a Coordinator / Assistant Coordinator / Team Leader in OSHC or early childhood.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Time management and organisation are crucial skills in a service of this size.
  • Someone looking for a change of organisation, who wants to step up and make a positive difference and who can take charge and ownership of the service.
  • Great computer and communication skills.
  • Dedicated to developing a harmonious team environment, incorporating leadership based on respect, understanding and effective communication.
  • Diploma in Children’s Services (Out-of-Hours Care), or equivalent / higher, is desirable.
  • CHCPRT001: Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection.
  • HLTAID004: Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.
  • Knowledge of school aged children's development and needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NQF and all it embodies - NQS, Framework, Regulations.
