The Cammeraygal people are one of the twenty-nine Darug tribes that inhabited what is now known as the Lower North Shore. They were known for their strong kinship and their skills as hunter-fisher-gatherers.

This service also focuses on kinship and developing strong ties with their community including their indigenous elders.

A well-established NFP, volunteer Parent Committee run service in Cammeray is looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Coordinator to join their team.

As the Assistant Coordinator you will work closely with the Service Coordinator & Service Director to ensure the deliver quality educational programs, compliance across the service, & that strong partnerships are maintained with children, families, school staff and the wider community.
You will also be responsible for the Educational Leadership of the Service. As part of this you will guide and mentor the educators in their professional practice to ensure they are delivering a child-focused quality program. You will work closely with children and families to ensure engagement and inclusion in the service activities.
 
About the role:
  • Permanent part time Assistant Director role | 33 hours per week.
  • Split shift position (7:15am-9:15am & 2:00pm-6:00pm). + additional administration time.
  • Above award wages $32-$36 per hour (dependent on qualifications & experience).
  • Support the current Coordinator in the day-to-day management of the service.
  • Take on the Educational Leadership & ensure quality programs and experiences for the children.
  • Guide, mentor & support educators in developing their professional practice.
  • Opportunities to support quality improvement within the service.
  • Act as the Responsible Person in the absence of the Service Coordinator / Nominated Supervisor.

  About you:

  • You are familiar with the National Quality Framework including the Education & Care National Regulations.
  • You have a solid understanding of the My Time Our Place Learning Framework.
  • You have strong leadership skills and can mentor and guide educators in their professional practice
  • You have the ability and desire to work cooperatively and collaboratively within the team
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • You can develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others, both inside and outside the organisation.
  • You are committed to supporting the excellence in the service programs.
  • You can support children & families to engage in the programs and access a diverse range of activities.
  • You can provide guidance and support to the team on best practice programming
  • You can observe children and record their interests & development.
  • You are able to regularly evaluate the program, ensuring it meets the needs of the service and adheres to the requirements of the My Time our Place Learning Framework.

   Prerequisites
  • CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • Working towards a qualification or hold Diploma in Children’s Services (Out-of-Hours Care), or equivalent is desirable.
  • Valid Working with Children Check
