This OSHC service seeks to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in their day-to-day practice with children and families through their ongoing commitment to reconciliation and acknowledgment of the local Gubbi Gubbi Tribe.
This not-for-profit service on the Sunshine Coast, are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Director to join their team.
This service believes that each child has the right to be an active member of the community in which they live, to express their opinions, and to have their views considered in decisions that affect them.
We are seeking an OSHC educator with experience in leading teams to step into this Assistant Director & Educational Leader position. You will be well supported by the long-standing Director and cohesive and knowledgable team of part-time and casual educators. You will have the opportunity to mentor educators in their professional practice & embed the My Time Our Place Learning Framework into service daily routines.

  • Minimum of 18 hours non-contact time a week (off the floor)

What are we looking for?
  • You have experience in leading and mentoring teams of educators.
  • Experience in Educational Leadership or willing to undergo paid Professional Development in Educational Leadership.
  • Able to confidently lead and implement a quality educational program.
  • A solid understanding of the National Quality Framework.
  • Able to mentor and support new educators in their roles
  • Can challenge educators in their professional practice & lead a culture of ongoing quality improvement.
  • Able to collaborate and work well in a team environment.
  • Can develop & maintain strong relationships with children, families, school executives and the wider community.
  • Has a good understanding of child development and child behaviours.
  • You have a philosophy of child engagement, rather than punishment, when dealing with difficult behaviour.
  • CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain (1 day training).  
Child Safety:   
We are looking for an individual that understands, adheres, and promotes The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.You will create a culture, adopt strategies, and take action to promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people.

A Blue Card is required for this position.
