A not-for-profit community-based service run by a parent management committee are looking for a Director to lead their current team.
As Director, you will need a strong understanding of quality and compliance within an OSHC service and an interest in business management. You will support the long-standing team through guidance & mentorship.
To be successful in this position you will have outstanding leadership qualities, be passionate and love working with children.

You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated to providing children with the best possible childhood experiences. You will also have a cooperative approach to working with stakeholders. 
About the role:

  • Full-time or part-time position (flexible working arrangements available)
  • Above award wages (around $85K + superannuation – negotiable dependent on qualifications & experience)
  • Be responsible for the future planning of the service in partnership with the school
  • Support a strong relationship with the school community by attending P&C meetings & meetings with the school executive team.
  • Manage the overall day to day running of the service.
  • Create and maintain a positive culture within the service.
  • Leadership plays a large part of this position with an expectation to lead, guide, coach and develop the team.
  • Be present at the service – families, children, educators, school, and other stakeholders need to know you as the face of the service.
About the service:
  • Own space on school grounds and access to other areas within the school and the school hall.
  • Operates before and after school care currently with the addition of vacation care planned to be added. This position will help lead the implementation of adding vacation care.
  • Licenced for approximately 130 children.
  • Uses QikKids for CCMS.
  • Recently went through Assessment & Rating (A&R), which gives you time to settle into the role before the next A&R.
  • Low staff turnover.
  • Approved Provider happy to take on board new organisational structure ideas that will work for the size of the service and for future strategic planning.
  • Approved Provider is a volunteer Parent Management Committee whose main priority is quality for the children, and they recognise and value their Educators at the service.
  • Certificate IV / Diploma in Out of School Hours Care, or any other relevant field, or above.
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of the NQF, NQS, My Time Our Place Framework, and keep up to date with the industry changes and developments.
  • Positive and understanding individual that is aware, open and mindful.
  • Excellent communication skills & ability to maintain professional relationships with the school community.
  • Acceptance of the Nominated Supervisor role.
  • Genuine compassion, care and interest for working with children.
  • Can communicate respectfully and effectively.
  • Can adapt to suit differing stakeholders in the community and communicate well with each.
  • Change mindset.
  • Strategic thinker and planner for the service.
  • Understanding of the changing needs of the OSHC profession and how to implement them in a service.
  • Management experience in leading and motivating a team of educators.
  • An understanding and support of continuous improvement.
  • Minimum two years’ experience working in a similar environment, especially working with a parent management committee is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with a volunteer Parent Management Committee desirable.
  • Experience with QikKids an advantage.
  • HLTAID004Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • CHCPRT001Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • Criminal History Check.
  • Valid & current NSW Working With Children Check.
