Experienced OSHC Director - Fairy Meadow

The area we know today as Wollongong was originally inhabited by the Dharawal people who remain the Traditional Custodians of this land. This well-resourced Service is looking for a Full or Part-time Director with solid experience in OSHC and inclusion support to run a busy and truly child-led programme, supporting up to 74 children from across 6 local primary schools. If you are keen on a hands-on role where you will really get to build lasting relationships with children and their families, this role could be a great fit for you!
What to expect from this role:
  • You will be working alongside an experienced 2IC and consistent team of permanent part-time educators and regular casuals
  • You will be working mainly block shifts, working directly with the children for either Before or After School Care with plenty of admin time during the day to handle programming, rostering, budgeting, etc.
  • You will be a key decision maker in the Service’s Strategic Inclusion Planning process
  • You will be well supported by head office teams who work on enrolments, billing, marketing and compliance, as well as receiving mentoring and guidance directly from your Area Manager plus Child Protection and Pedagogy teams
  • You will be running the OSHC from a permanent, dedicated space – and a great outdoor area too!
  • No Assessment & Rating for a while! This has just been completed with the outcome due any day

About you
  • You have a sound knowledge and understanding of the NQF | NQS | MTOP | Regulations.
  • You have experience in a leadership position, guiding and mentoring a team.
  • You ideally hold a Certificate III, Diploma or equivalent, or perhaps you are studying towards a qualification in Children’s Services
  • You are someone who is passionate about working with children, making a positive difference, improving outcomes, and putting in place supportive practices for children with additional needs
  • You are career minded and you thrive on making a positive difference
  • You have experience dealing with management, building relationships & ensuring positive interactions with the school community and external stakeholders
  • You’re adaptable, you are open and willing to learn new things, take on new challenges, and make adjustments to suit transitions in the service
  • Fully immunised and up to date with your boosters.
  • CHCPRT001Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain
  • HLTAID012 - ‘Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting’ Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Working With Vulnerable People card
  • Covid 19 Vaccination Certificate
