This Service is located in the area known as Darkinjung to Indigenous Australians. The Darkinjung people were an inland group whose territory extended from the Hawkesbury River in the south, northwards about 60km to Wollombi and the Hunter River.

The position:
  • Off the floor, non-teaching role however still to be present and the face of the service.
  • Shared Nominated Supervisor.
  • Full time, flexible role, ideally 38 hours across 5 days to start however able to be flexible for the right candidate for options (RDO’s, 4 day weeks, etc) once settled in.
  • Above award rates, approximately $40 - $48 per hour ($80 - $95K) + super. Rate is dependent on qualifications and experience.
  • Staff discount on care for own children (if desired).
  • Bonus structure on top of the above in place to meet KPI’s, such as increasing the service occupancy.
  • Manage the day to day running of the service and lead the team of dedicated and passionate educators. Including liaising with stakeholders, management, and building the service’s presence in the community (marketing).
  • Work with management to ensure the service is operating to all NQF & other requirements.
  • Organisational support if and when wanted – meetings with the pedagogical team to collaborate and learn from one another, opportunity to network with other services and Directors.

The service:
  • Currently has 4 Responsible Person’s (RP) within the team, all go through a thorough induction process before being made a RP.
  • Service has 2 Educational Leaders.
  • Be supported by 2 ECT’s.
  • Newly opened service – opportunity to make it your own and create a service to suit the community, families and children's needs.
  • Excellent purpose built facilities.
  • Utilises QikKids, Deputy and Storypark.
  • Licenced for under 90 children & current capacity at half that.
  • Uniform is supplied, however is not mandatory – that can be a service decision.
  • Time off the floor provided to other educators, to ensure you are supported.
  • Small organisation with a dedicated pedagogical team in place & strong theories connected to excellent practice.
  • Bases curriculum off one of the best systems in the world that is based on trust in teachers / educators and their knowledge and equality. Due to well thought out training, educators can be given extensive freedom in developing their own work.
Getting to know you:
  • Genuine compassion, care and interest for working with children.
  • Minimum two years’ experience working in a similar environment.
  • Respectful individual that is aware, open and mindful.
  • Experience with QikKids & CCMS, rostering and managing a team.
  • Desirable - experience with Inclusion Support & corresponding funding (ISP).
  • Desirable – knowledge of the area and community.
Essential documents / qualifications:
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or any other equivalent qualifications.
  • Current HLTAID012 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection or willingness to obtain (1 day training).
  • Current criminal History Check.
  • Acceptance of the role of Nominated Supervisor.
  • Valid & current NSW Working With Children Check.
Child Safety:  Looking for an individual that understands, adheres and promotes The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. In your position, you will create a culture, adopt strategies and take action to promote child wellbeing and prevent hard to children and young people.
