Assistant Coordinator | Out of School Hours Care (OSHC / OOSH) | Newport Area

A small OSHC service located in the beautiful Newport area, Sydney, are looking for an Assistant Coordinator to join their NFP parent managed centre.

This is a newly created position to help support the current Coordinator in their position and help lead and manage the centre. The position is open to starting from anytime.
  • Permanent Part Time | Approx 30 Hours Per Week | Split Shifts, work life balance | Level 5.1 - 5.4.
  • Own premises, no shared space on school grounds | Supportive Coordinator & PMC.
  • New Position | Beautiful location, near Newport on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

About the role:
  • A permanent part time, approx 30 hour per week position.
  • Level 5.1 to 5.4 of the Children's Services Award 2010 (offering between $27.96 - $28.87).
  • Additional $16.47 split shift allowance, each day a before and after school session is worked.
  • This position is for before and after school care (split shifts) during Term Time - make the most of the flexible hours in this beautiful beach side location.
  • Hours would be approximately 6.45am-9am then 2.30pm-6.15pm Monday -Thursday and 6:45am-9am then 12:30pm-6:15pm on Friday.
  • The centre also offers Vacation Care during the school holidays where shift times will provide variety.
  • Assist the Coordinator to lead and manage the day to day operations of the Centre and build on your leadership experience.
  • Act as a responsible person in the absence of the Coordinator.
  • Be the Educational Leader of the service, this is the fun part of the centre - plan, implement and lead the program (think of all the fun activities the children get up to day to day that you can plan - crafts, sports, games, activities). Grow the program with children's ideas and by reflecting on their needs and wants.
  • Administration time of at least 2 hours off the floor included, with the opportunity for more as the centre expands.
About the centre:
  • Own premises within school grounds, no shared space - has own office, kitchen and room.
  • Small service approved for 60 places.
  • Supportive school with a great relationship.
  • Supportive and easy going community.
  • CCMS program used is QikKids with Kiosk and My Family Lounge.
  • Centre operates 7am - 9am and 3pm - 6:!5pm.
  • Approved Provider is a volunteer Parent Management Committee whose main priority is quality for the children and they recognise and value their Educators at the service.
Who are we looking for?

  • The Educational Leader component of this position must be a people orientated person who can adapt well to others differing personalities.
  • Change mindset, someone with innovative ideas for creating the program of the service.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of the NQF and all it encompasses - NQS, Framework, Regulations. This area will be built upon and developed whilst in the position.
  • Certificate III in Children’s Services, or equivalent at a minimum.
  • CHCPRT001: Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection (or willingness to obtain).
  • HLTAID004: Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting (or willingness to obtain).
