Services are required to develop risk assessments for a number of circumstances, including the safe arrivla of children. Other examples are for:
- Sleep & Rest
- Regular Transportation of Children
- Excursions
- Emergency & Evacuation.
These risk assessments must address certain matters, which means a generic risk assessment template won’t meet the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
This risk assessment template has been designed to support services conduct a risk assessment that identifies and assesses any risks that travel between an education and care service and any other education or early childhood service may pose to the safety, health or wellbeing of children, and how identified risks will be managed and minimised.
In accordance with regulation 102AAC(2) of the Education and Care Services National Regulations the risk assessment must be reviewed at least once every 12 months and as soon as practicable after becoming aware of any circumstance that may affect the safe arrival of children travelling between an education and care service and any other education or early childhood service.
In accordance with regulation 102AAC(5) necessary updates to the safe arrival of children policies and procedures must be made as soon as practicable after conducting a risk assessment where a risk relating to a child’s travel is identified.
